What is Pawlooza?

Pawlooza is the ultimate dog party! It's a festival for dogs and animal lovers! Join 15,000 people and 4,000 dogs for Canada's most unique and dog-friendly festival experience.

When is Pawlooza?

Pawlooza takes place on International Homeless Animals' Day - Saturday August 20th, 2011- from 10 AM - 6 PM.

Things to do at Pawlooza?

Take your dog dock diving, go trailwalking, go swimming in the Pawlooza pond, test your dog's agility, go offleash in the FunZone, get trick advice, get obedience advice, get readings from a pet psychic, learn about pet first aid, watch agility demonstrations... shop from 150 vendors, get great deals by bidding on silent auction items, and load up on free samples. We've packed as much fun into one day as possible... there isn't a better place to spoil your dog!

Admission Fee?

Admission is free at Pawlooza; but, there is a $10 cost per vehicle for parking [all for charity]. So, be sure to car pool and pack as many people and dogs into your car as you can! It only happens once a year...

Where do the proceeds go to?

Pawlooza is a 100% charity-driven festival - from all of the time put into the festival to all of the proceeds. Thousands of hours are put into the festival by the organizing committee and 300 volunteers. All are working on behalf of their two not-for-profits - [Animal Rescue Foundation Ontario – working with first nations and rural communities throughout Ontario to rescue, rehab and re-home stray dogs and cats, and Leads Employment Services – helping people with disabilities throughout SW Ontario find employment and receive skills training]. What is International Homeless Animals' Day?

The International Society of Animal Rights (ISAR) began National Homeless Animals' Day in 1992, to help bring more attention to America's pet overpopulation. The day - celebrated on the third Saturday of August - has since morphed into a global campaign, with animal rights organizations around the world coming together to raise awareness about the pet overpopulation epidemic. Why are there so many animal rescue and welfare groups at Pawlooza?

In honour of International Homeless Animals' Day, Pawlooza has partnered with animal rescue groups from across Canada. These rescue groups are given free space to come to Pawlooza, show off their adoptables, fundraise, network, and help raise awareness about Canada's pet overpopulation.
